At SCANDALINEN, bamboo linen comes in two blends: 30% linen with 70% bamboo, and 45% linen with 55% bamboo rayon. They are different fabrics, and their expected shrinkage is different too. Check the composition on the product page before choosing a colour or size.
Which blend are you buying?
30% linen / 70% bamboo: allow for approximately 2–3% shrinkage when cared for as directed. See the 30/70 bedding collection.
45% linen / 55% bamboo rayon: expect approximately 10% shrinkage. Wash before the first fitting; the unwashed bedding can look too large. See the 45/55 bedding collection.
These are the expected shrinkage ranges for our fabrics, not a rule for every brand. Washing and drying conditions affect the result. Follow the care instructions supplied with your order.
Is bamboo linen the same as pure linen?
No. A blend contains linen alongside another fibre. Our French linen bedding is a separate range made from linen and is already stonewashed. It can still shrink by approximately 2–5%. If you want pure linen, choose that range rather than assuming every product with “linen” in its name has the same composition.
Why should I wash it before putting it on the bed?
The first wash is part of getting the intended fit. This matters especially with the 45/55 blend because its expected shrinkage is greater. Do not judge the final fit straight from the package or try to force extra shrinkage with a hot dryer.
Keep the order details and care label, wash as instructed, then check the bedding once dry. If the fit still looks wrong, send us your order number, the mattress or insert measurements and photos so we can check it with you.
What measurements do I send for a custom size?
For a fitted sheet, send the mattress width, length and total depth, including any topper. For a duvet cover, measure the duvet insert itself. For pillowcases, measure each pillow. Tell us whether your measurements are in inches or centimetres.
Send the actual measurements rather than adding your own shrinkage allowance. Include the exact blend and colour you want so our workshop can confirm the finished size and quote before you order. A colour shown in one blend is not automatically available in the other.
We make bedding to your measurements in our Hanoi workshop with no minimum order and no separate design fee. The quote depends on the fabric, dimensions and pieces requested.
How long will my order take?
Allow 3–4 weeks from ordering to delivery. International shipping is US$15 for orders under 1 kg and US$30 from 1 kg, with free international shipping on orders of US$500 or more. Delivery within Vietnam is free. The total confirmed at checkout includes applicable charges, with no additional fees on arrival. See our shipping information.
