About Our Products

What is French Linen, and why does SCANDALINEN use it?

French linen is woven from 100% European flax — grown primarily in France and Belgium, where the cool, damp climate produces long, fine fibers that are stronger and more breathable than flax grown anywhere else. SCANDALINEN imports this fabric directly, pre-washes it before production, and uses it at 160–165 gsm in widths of 250–280 cm. That is heavier and wider than most off-the-shelf linen bedding. The result: sheets that feel substantial, sleep cool, and get softer with every wash.

Is SCANDALINEN’s linen certified safe?

Yes. All our fabric carries OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification — an internationally recognized standard confirming the fabric contains no harmful chemicals at any stage of production. Safe for direct skin contact, including for children and people with sensitive skin.

What makes SCANDALINEN different from other linen brands?

A few things that are genuinely hard to find elsewhere:

•       Every piece is handcrafted in Hanoi workshop by skilled Vietnamese artisans — not a factory assembly line.

•       We collaborate with H’Mong ethnic artisans from Ha Giang to incorporate traditional hand-embroidery and brocade — a 5,000-year-old textile tradition — into our collections.

•       No minimum order quantity. One pillowcase or 10,000 sets — we produce both.

•       Over 50 colors in plain and yarn-dye, plus custom color dyeing from 500 meters of fabric.

•       Every product is measure-to-made. Any size, any specification, any detail.

Will my linen get softer over time?

Yes — and this is one of linen’s defining qualities. The natural pectin that binds linen fibers gradually loosens with washing and use, so your sheets become progressively more supple. A set washed 20 times will feel noticeably softer than the day it arrived. This is not a quirk. It is what makes linen a long-term investment rather than a short-term purchase.

Ordering & Customization

Do you accept custom orders?

Yes, and this is central to what we do. We work with retail customers, interior designers, hotels, and international brands to produce linen bedding in any color, size, or specification. Can I add embroidery to my order?

Yes. We offer hand embroidery — including traditional H’Mong ethnic motifs by artisans in Ha Giang — and industrial embroidery for larger volumes. Options include logo placement, monograms, geometric patterns, and brocade-inspired designs. Contact us for pricing; lead time depends on complexity and quantity.

What sizes do you offer?

We produce in US sizes (Twin, Full, Queen, King, California King), Australian sizes (Single, Double, Queen, King, Super King), and European sizes. We also produce fully custom dimensions for non-standard beds, hospitality projects, and any specification you need. Add your measurements in the order notes or contact us before ordering.

Is there a minimum order quantity?

No. This is a deliberate part of our model. A single retail pillowcase receives the same care as a wholesale pallet. For bulk and wholesale orders, volume pricing applies — contact us to discuss thresholds and timelines.

Can you produce private label or OEM products for my brand?

Yes. We manage the full production chain: design, sampling, manufacturing, custom labeling, and packaging. We have produced private label linen for international partners including Ocochi (UK) and Sleeping Dove. If you are launching or expanding a linen product line, contact us to discuss a partnership.

Shipping & Delivery

Where does SCANDALINEN ship to?

We ship worldwide from Hanoi, Vietnam. International retail orders are dispatched by express courier with door-to-door delivery. Wholesale and export orders ship from Hai Phong Port on FOB, CNF, or CIF terms depending on your preference.

How long does shipping take?

International retail orders: 3–4 weeks, depending on destination and customs. Custom or made-to-measure orders: 2–3 weeks production, then shipping time on top. Wholesale container orders: 30–45 days production plus 1–2 weeks to destination port. We will confirm your estimated timeline when you place your order.

Can I track my order?

Yes. Once your order ships, you receive a tracking number by email. Wholesale shipments come with a full documentation package: Bill of Lading, Commercial Invoice, and Packing List.

Who is responsible for customs duties and import taxes?

Import duties, customs fees, and local taxes at your destination are the buyer’s responsibility. These vary by country and are not included in our shipping charges. For wholesale orders, we provide all documentation needed to support your customs clearance.

Returns & Exchanges

What is SCANDALINEN’s return policy?

We accept returns and exchanges within 30 days of delivery for items that are unworn, unwashed, unused, and in original condition with labels attached. Custom, made-to-measure, and final sale items are not eligible. See our full Returns & Exchanges Policy for details.

How do I start a return or exchange?

Email scandalinen@gmail.com or message us on WhatsApp +84 933 998 598 with your order number and reason. We respond within 1–2 business days with instructions. Please do not ship anything back before hearing from us.

Who pays for return shipping?

We cover all return shipping — including courier pickup for international orders — when the return is due to our error: defective item, wrong product, wrong size sent by us. If you are returning because you changed your mind or ordered the wrong size, return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.

How long does a refund take?

Once we receive and inspect your return, approved refunds process within 10 business days to your original payment method. Original shipping costs and import taxes are not included in the refund.

Care Instructions

How do I wash SCANDALINEN linen bedding?

Linen is easier to care for than most people expect:

•       Machine wash at 30–40°C with a mild detergent

•       No bleach, no fabric softener — both damage linen fibers

•       Tumble dry on low heat, or line dry in the shade

•       Remove from the dryer promptly to reduce creasing

•       Iron on medium heat while slightly damp for a smooth finish, or leave it — the natural texture is part of the charm

Linen becomes softer with every wash. The slight wrinkles are a feature, not a flaw.

Will my linen bedding shrink?

All our linen is pre-washed before production to eliminate the bulk of potential shrinkage. You may see a further 2–3% reduction after your first home wash — this is normal for natural linen and we account for it in our sizing. Washing at 30–40°C and drying on low heat keeps any further change minimal.

Can I use bleach on linen?

No. Bleach breaks down linen’s natural cellulose fibers and will shorten the life of your bedding. For stains, apply a natural stain remover or oxygen-based cleaner directly to the area before washing. For white linen, a small amount of white vinegar in the rinse cycle helps maintain brightness without harming the fabric.

Are wrinkles in linen normal?

Yes. Wrinkling is inherent to natural linen fiber and is not a defect. It is how you know you’re sleeping in something real. If you prefer a crisper look, iron while the fabric is slightly damp on medium heat. Most people stop noticing the wrinkles within a week of sleeping in it — and stop caring within a month.

Does SCANDALINEN offer wholesale pricing?

Yes. We supply retail brands, e-commerce sellers, boutique hotels, resorts, homestays, and interior design studios. Volume pricing scales with order size. Email scandalinen@gmail.com with your requirements for a quote.

What is the minimum order quantity for wholesale?

There is no fixed minimum. The most competitive pricing applies from 50 sets upward. For container orders and private label projects, contact us to discuss production timelines, pricing tiers, and packaging.

Can SCANDALINEN manufacture products under my brand name?

Yes. We handle the complete OEM process: design consultation, sampling, production, custom labeling, and packaging. Lead time for a first private label run, from design approval to shipment, is typically 45–60 days.

What export terms do you offer?

Standard terms: FOB Hai Phong Port, Vietnam. We can also arrange CNF and CIF. Payment: 100% TT (wire transfer) in USD at the exchange rate on the signing date. Contact us to discuss your logistics needs.

Payment & Security

What payment methods does SCANDALINEN accept?

For retail orders through our Shopify store: all major credit cards, PayPal, and any method available through Shopify’s secure checkout. For wholesale and export orders: bank transfer (TT) in USD with a formal proforma invoice.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. Retail transactions are processed through Shopify’s encrypted, PCI-compliant payment system. SCANDALINEN does not store your card details at any point.
