Who we are

SCANDALINEN is a Vietnamese linen bedding brand founded in Hanoi in 2018. We design, cut, sew and ship every piece ourselves — there is no third-party factory between our workshop and your bed. Orders are made to measure rather than pulled from stock, which is why we can cut any size and why we do not hold large inventory.

The business is run by a small team in Cau Giay, Hanoi. If you email us, one of us answers.

The people who make it

Our team includes garment makers with more than 20 years of sewing experience. They cut and sew our bedding in our Hanoi workshop.

Our workshop is not a production line with quotas. It is a small studio where people who know how to sew are paid to sew properly, and where an order for one pillowcase is made with the same care as an order for a hotel.

French linen, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100

We buy 100% European flax linen, certified to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 — independently laboratory-tested for harmful substances, not self-declared. Every piece is pre-washed and stonewashed before it is cut, so shrinkage after your first wash is limited to about 2–5%.

Fabric width 250–280 cm — wide beds have no seam down the middle
50+ colours, plain-dyed and yarn-dyed
Custom colour dyeing available from 500 metres of fabric
No minimum order — a single pillowcase is a valid order

Bamboo linen

We offer two blends: 45% linen with 55% bamboo rayon, and 30% linen with 70% bamboo. The 45/55 blend shrinks about 10%; the 30/70 blend about 2–3%. Wash before the first fitting and follow the care label.

H’Mong hemp

H'Mong indigo hemp textiles

On the limestone plateau of Ha Giang, H’Mong women still grow hemp, spin it, dye it with indigo and weave it on backstrap looms. We buy this fabric directly from H’Mong, Muong, Thai and Ede artisans — no middlemen — and use it for our bags, cushion covers and embroidered trims.

Vietnamese H’Mong hemp weaving and indigo dyeing is recognised as National Intangible Cultural Heritage. Buying a piece sends income straight to a household in Dong Van or Meo Vac.

Everything can be made to your measurements at no design fee. Unusual bed, deep mattress, antique frame, caravan bunk, European insert — send us the width, length and depth and we will quote before we cut.

How ordering works

Made to order: your piece is cut after you order, so allow about 3–4 weeks from order to delivery, including making and delivery
Shipping from Hanoi: tracked, door to door, duties paid — nothing to pay when your parcel arrives
Returns: 30 days from delivery — see our refund policy for what is and is not eligible
