If you and your partner use different pillows, choose a case for each insert rather than ordering two cases solely because they share a size name. A matching colour does not require matching dimensions.
Measure each pillow separately
Read the size label first, then check the insert itself. Record width and length in centimetres and keep the two measurements labelled “left” and “right”. A case that fits a flat feather pillow may feel different on a thick, firm insert of the same nominal size. If your pillow is contoured, send its shape and maximum dimensions when asking about a custom case; do not assume a rectangular case will follow its contours.

Check what the listing actually includes
Some bedding orders include two pillowcases in one listed size. Others offer pillowcases separately. Before choosing a cover with two pillowcases, check whether the included cases fit both pillows. Do not assume that a quantity of one means a pair: read the item description and the selected option.
If the included size suits only one sleeper, ask whether a mixed-size order is available and request the final dimensions and price in writing. A note in the cart is a request, not confirmation that a different size has been accepted.
Compare finished case dimensions and the opening
Ask whether quoted dimensions refer to the insert the case is intended to fit or the finished case itself. Check the opening and closure shown for that particular product. Do not add an arbitrary allowance to your pillow measurements: the maker needs the insert size to recommend the appropriate finished case.

A short message that avoids a wrong order
“I need two linen pillowcases in the same colour. Pillow A measures ___ × ___ cm and pillow B measures ___ × ___ cm. Both are [rectangular/contoured]. Can you confirm the finished case sizes, closure, quantity, total price and estimated dispatch date?”
Keep colour and fabric consistent
When ordering two different sizes, specify the same fabric option and colour for both if you want them to coordinate. Similar colour names across different fabrics do not establish a match. A photograph can help explain your preference, but screens and lighting can change how a shade appears.
Before you pay
Review the selected sizes and item count once more. For made-to-order cases, read the current return policy and resolve any size uncertainty before payment.

Common questions
Can I buy two sizes in one matching colour?
Ask for availability for the specific fabric and colour. Confirm both dimensions and quantities before ordering.
Should I choose a larger case for a thicker pillow?
Send the insert dimensions and shape to the maker instead of guessing how much larger to order.
