Some pillows are worth keeping even when shopping for a case becomes a nuisance. Perhaps yours came from another country, was made for an older bed, or simply sits between the sizes on a shop’s dropdown menu.
You can order custom size linen pillowcases from SCANDALINEN, including a single case. We make bedding in Hanoi and quote from your measurements, fabric choice and quantity. There is no minimum order and no separate design fee. Allow about 3–4 weeks from order to receipt.
Measure the pillow you will actually use
For a rectangular or square pillow, start with the width and length on its sewn-in label. Check the pillow itself as well, measuring edge to edge without stretching it or pressing all the filling flat. Send both the label size and your measurement if they differ.
For a thick or unusually shaped pillow, width and length alone may not tell the whole story. Describe the shape and depth in your request. If we need a photograph or a sketch to confirm whether we can make the case, we will ask for it before quoting.
Already have a pillowcase that fits well? Measure it flat, seam to seam, and tell us those are the finished case dimensions. Do not include a decorative border or an overlapping envelope flap in the usable width and length without explaining it.
One pillowcase, a pair, or different sizes?
You do not have to order identical sizes. A pair of sleeping pillows and a square reading pillow need separate measurements and quantities. Listing each piece keeps the quote clear:
- 2 rectangular pillowcases for pillows measuring ___ × ___ cm.
- 1 square pillowcase for a pillow measuring ___ × ___ cm.
- Preferred fabric and colour: ___.
If you want a body-pillow case or a shaped case, describe it rather than selecting the nearest ordinary pillow size. We will check construction and fabric availability before confirming what can be made.
Think about the opening as well as the size
A case can have the right dimensions and still feel inconvenient if the opening is not what you expected. Tell us whether you want to match an existing envelope-style case or have another fastening in mind. We will confirm the available finish and how it affects the final dimensions.
Be specific about decorative edges too. If a case has a border, the outside measurement can be larger than the space intended for the pillow. Saying “50 × 70 cm pillow, with a border outside that size” is clearer than sending one unexplained measurement.
Choosing a fabric and colour
Use our French linen pillowcases as a starting point for colours. If you prefer a fabric from the bamboo linen collection, include that product link instead. We will identify the fabric in the quote so there is no confusion between 100% linen and a blend.
For replacement cases, tell us when and where you bought the existing bedding. Fabric can change with washing and dye batches can vary. We will check what is available; a similar name or photograph alone is not a guarantee of an exact colour match.

No. One custom pillowcase is fine. State the quantity you need in the request.
Should I add extra room to the pillow measurements?
Send the actual size and explain whether you prefer a close or relaxed fit. We will confirm the finished case dimensions; do not silently add an allowance.
Can you make a case for a specialist shaped pillow?
Send its shape, dimensions and any opening requirements first. We need to review the construction before confirming that request.
