Made-to-measure linen bedding is worth considering when the dimensions you need are not listed, or when an existing sheet or cover does not fit properly. If a standard option already matches your measurements, you can choose it directly. The useful comparison is fit, included pieces, confirmed price and arrival time.

Standard size or custom size: what changes?

Fit: standard sizes work when the actual dimensions match. Custom sizing lets us assess a different width, length or depth, subject to what we can make.
Price: compare the exact items and fabric. Custom pricing depends on dimensions, construction and quantity; request a confirmed quote rather than assuming the nearest standard price applies.
Timing: standard sizing does not necessarily mean ready to dispatch. SCANDALINEN bedding is made to order, with approximately 3–4 weeks from order to arrival. Confirm custom details, destination and deadlines before paying.
Choice: check available colours and fabrics for the specific item. A custom dimension does not mean every colour or construction is possible.

When to buy a listed size

Choose a standard option when its centimetre or inch measurements match your mattress, duvet or pillow. Check what is included and select the fabric and colour you want. There is no need to request a bespoke size simply because your bed is labelled King or Queen.

For fitted sheets, include your topper in the mattress depth. For duvet covers, compare with the insert dimensions rather than the mattress. For flat sheets, allow for your preferred overhang and tuck.

When to request made-to-measure bedding

Ask about custom sizing when you have a deep mattress, an imported duvet or pillow, an unusually long or wide bed, or a fitted sheet that keeps pulling free. For curved mattresses, cut corners or other shapes, send a drawing or photograph so we can assess the construction first.

The pieces you want and the quantity of each.
Actual dimensions in cm or inches. For fitted sheets: mattress width × length × total depth with the topper.
Your preferred fabric and colour. SCANDALINEN French linen fabric is 100% linen, 165–175 GSM, with OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification applying to the linen fabric.
Delivery country, postcode and any date you need the bedding by.

For a duvet cover or pillowcase, send the insert measurements. We will confirm the finished dimensions and quote before you place the order. If a measurement is uncertain, include a photo of the tape rather than guessing an allowance.

The confirmed quote depends on the size, fabric, construction and number of pieces. Ask us to price your exact request before comparing it with a listed product.

Can I return custom bedding?

Will a better fit make the fabric last longer?

A suitable fit avoids unnecessary pulling when making the bed, but lifespan also depends on fabric, friction, washing and care. We do not promise a fixed number of years based on size alone.
