Ordering Linen Bedding Before Moving Home

Ordering Linen Bedding Before Moving Home

For a move with a fixed date, order linen bedding only after confirming both the bed measurements and a realistic delivery window. A dispatch estimate is not the same as a guaranteed arrival date.

Confirm the bed that will actually arrive

Do not order from the room plan or bed-frame name alone. Obtain the mattress width, length and depth, and include any topper or protector that will sit under the fitted sheet. For a duvet cover, use the duvet insert dimensions rather than the mattress dimensions. For pillowcases, check the pillows you will keep after the move.

Separate making time from delivery time

Ask whether your chosen item is ready to dispatch or made to order. Then confirm the estimated dispatch date and delivery estimate for the destination. A custom size or a change after ordering may affect the schedule. Read the current shipping policy and get clarification before paying if the timing is critical.

If there is little margin before moving day, keep usable bedding available for the first nights. Do not rely on a general delivery estimate as a promise that a parcel will arrive on one specific day.

Choose an address that can receive the parcel

Consider whether you will still have access to the old address when delivery occurs and whether someone can receive a parcel at the new one. Check building, apartment and postal-code details carefully. Ask about an address change before dispatch if plans change; do not assume that a parcel already in transit can be redirected.

Confirm the complete order in one message

Send the item list, measurements, fabric, colour, destination and the date you need the bedding. Ask the maker to confirm what is feasible. For a custom order, also confirm the quoted price and return conditions before payment.

Keep the first order focused

A move is a good time to replace a piece that no longer fits, but it does not mean every layer needs replacing. List what you already own and choose the missing pieces. Check whether your chosen duvet listing is cover-only, cover with pillowcases, or a larger set.

Browse linen bedding or discuss your move date and measurements.

A quick enquiry before you order

“I am moving on ___. I need ___ in size ___, fabric ___ and colour ___. Delivery is to country ___, postal code ___. Can you confirm making time, estimated transit time and whether this timing is realistic before I place my order?”

Common questions

Can I order before my mattress arrives?

Use confirmed measurements from the supplier, including the final sleeping depth. If those are still uncertain, resolve them before committing to a custom size.

Does estimated dispatch mean arrival?

No. Dispatch is when the order leaves the seller. Transit and delivery happen afterwards.
