Ordering Linen Bedding from Vietnam: Shipping, Customs, Returns

Ordering Linen Bedding from Vietnam: Shipping, Customs, Returns

The most common reason people abandon a linen order is not price — it is not knowing what happens after they press pay. Here is the whole process, including the parts that are inconvenient.

How long does it take to receive linen bedding from Vietnam?

3–4 weeks for standard international delivery, plus 1–2 business days of processing before dispatch. Every piece is cut and sewn to order in our Hanoi workshop, which is why nothing ships the same day — there is no warehouse of pre-made stock to pull from. You receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number as soon as your parcel leaves, and you can follow it the whole way. If you need bedding for a specific date, count backwards five weeks and order then, or message us first and we will tell you honestly whether it is possible.

Will I pay customs duties or import tax?

Possibly — it depends entirely on your country and the order value. Duties, taxes and any handling fees are the recipient's responsibility, and we cannot pre-pay them on your behalf. Every country sets its own de minimis threshold (the value below which no duty is charged), and those thresholds change, so check your own customs authority before ordering a large set. Two practical notes: customs processing is also the most common cause of delay beyond the 3–4 week window, and a parcel that is refused at customs and returned to us can be reshipped, though additional shipping fees apply.

Is the order tracked, and what if it goes missing?

Every order ships tracked. If a parcel is lost or arrives damaged, email scandalinen@gmail.com with your order number and, for damage, photographs. We take it up with the carrier and resolve it — you do not have to chase them yourself. The one thing we cannot fix is an incorrect delivery address entered at checkout, so it is worth re-reading before you confirm.

Returns: what is covered and what is not

  • 30 days from receiving your order to return or exchange, and the item must be sent back within that window.
  • Items must be unused, unwashed, with original tags and packaging.
  • Refunds are based on the full item price, excluding shipping and taxes, returned to your original payment method. Allow 10 business days for processing.
  • You pay return shipping — unless the item is defective or we sent the wrong thing.
  • Not returnable: discounted and clearance items, cut-to-length fabric, and used bedding.

If the product is genuinely faulty

Wrong size, wrong colour, missing seams, fabric flaws or the wrong item entirely all count as defects. In that case you get a full refund including all shipping and handling, and we arrange a courier to collect the parcel from your home free of charge. Submit the request within 30 days of delivery.

What does not count as a defect: fading over time, and shrinkage. Natural linen shrinks slightly after washing — ours is pre-washed so most of that has already happened, but a small amount of movement is inherent to the fibre, as is minor colour variation between dye batches.

A short checklist before you order

  1. Measure your mattress depth, not just the bed size. This is the number one cause of returns across the whole industry.
  2. Ask for a custom size if yours is unusual — it costs the same as standard, because everything is cut to order anyway.
  3. Choose a neutral if you are unsure of the colour. Screens misrepresent dye tones; natural, oatmeal and white are the safest.
  4. Order two sets if you can, so you can rotate while one is in the wash — and so you only wait 3–4 weeks once.
  5. Message us with anything unclear before paying. We reply from Hanoi, GMT+7, usually within a day.

Common questions

Do you ship to Australia, New Zealand and the US? Yes, and to most countries worldwide, tracked. Some remote locations have longer transit times.

How much is shipping? Calculated at checkout from destination, weight and method, so you see the exact figure before you pay.

Can I order wholesale or in bulk? Yes — email scandalinen@gmail.com for a quote. We supply 30+ homestays and boutique hotels and have run private label for Ocochi (UK) and Sleeping Dove.

Is there a minimum order? No. A single pillowcase is a valid order.

Can I change my order after placing it? Usually yes if you message within the first day, before cutting begins.
