A full split king bed uses two separate mattresses, so it normally needs two fitted sheets. In the US, those mattresses are commonly Twin XL, each 38 × 80 inches. A regular king fitted sheet covers both halves together and is not the same thing. Measure your own mattresses before ordering, especially if the two sides move independently.

Full split king or split-top king?
Look at the mattress, not just the bed frame. A full split has two separate mattresses from head to foot. A split-top mattress is joined lower down and has a different sheet shape. Two ordinary Twin XL fitted sheets are not a substitute for a split-top sheet.
If you have a split-top or another unusual shape, send the mattress model, photographs and a dimensioned sketch. We need to confirm the construction before quoting. Do not place a standard Twin XL order and expect a different shape to arrive.
What should a split king sheet order include?
- Two fitted sheets, each sized to one mattress and its topper.
- One shared flat sheet, or two separate flat sheets if you prefer independent covers.
- Pillowcases sized to your pillows.
A “king set” does not automatically contain two fitted sheets. Check the included pieces and quantities. If you want a duvet cover as well, measure the duvet insert separately; mattress measurements do not tell us its size.
How to measure each side
Put the adjustable base flat. Measure the width and length across the sleeping surface, then the full depth from the bottom of the mattress to the top of any topper that will sit inside the fitted sheet. Measure both sides if you use different mattresses or toppers.
Send the actual dimensions in inches or centimetres. Do not add your own seam or shrinkage allowance. Tell us that the bed is adjustable and whether the sides rise separately, so we can discuss the fit before making it.
For reference, the US split king described in Saatva’s mattress size guide consists of two Twin XL mattresses. That is a useful starting point, not a replacement for measuring your bed.
Choosing linen and allowing for the first wash
Our French linen is stonewashed and can still shrink approximately 2–5%. Wash it according to the supplied care instructions before checking the final fit.
If you prefer a blend, our 30% linen / 70% bamboo bedding has expected shrinkage of 2–3%, while the 45% linen / 55% bamboo rayon blend is approximately 10%. Read the bamboo linen blend and shrinkage guide before choosing. The fabric and colour should be confirmed together.
Can I order just one replacement sheet?
Yes. There is no minimum order and no separate design fee. We quote for the fabric, size and pieces you need. For an older set, send its colour name or order details; a new fabric batch may not be an exact colour match.
