Machine wash cold (30°C / 86°F) on a gentle cycle. Use mild, natural detergent avoid bleach and fabric softeners, which break down natural fibers over time. Tumble dry low or line dry in shade. Warm iron if needed. Wash separately for the first time to prevent color transfer.

How long does shipping take?
Orders typically arrive within 3–4 weeks from the order date. This includes handcrafting time at our Vietnam workshop and international shipping. We'll send you a tracking number as soon as your order is on its way.
Is linen fabric rough or stiff?
New linen may feel crisp at first — this is completely normal. It softens significantly after the first few washes and becomes one of the most comfortable fabrics you'll own. Pre-washing before use is recommended.
I'm buying from Vietnam — is that a concern?
Not at all. We're a Vietnam-based workshop using European flax linen and high quality blended linen and we ship internationally every week. All orders are carefully packed and tracked. If anything goes wrong in transit, we'll make it right.
Will the color fade over time?
Our fabrics are dyed for durability. Avoid bleach and harsh detergents to maintain color. Some natural softening of tone may occur over years of use, which is characteristic of quality linen.
Does linen wrinkle easily?
Yes and that's part of its charm. Linen's natural texture and relaxed wrinkles are a signature of the fabric. If you prefer a smoother look, iron while slightly damp on medium heat.
Can I return or exchange if the size doesn't fit?
Yes. We accept returns within 30 days for unused, unwashed items in original condition. Contact us at scandalinen@gmail.com and we'll guide you through the process.
Are your products safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. We use natural fibers free from harmful chemicals, gentle on all skin types including sensitive skin.
Do you offer gift packaging?
Yes, all orders are packed neatly and suitable for gifting.

With love,
Team SCANDALINEN
SCANDALINEN uses 100% French Linen woven from European Flax — grown in the cool, damp climate of northwestern France where longer, finer flax fibers develop naturally. The fabric is woven at 165–175 GSM, a weight chosen specifically for warm and humid climates: heavy enough to feel substantial, light enough to sleep cool. All fabric is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, independently tested to confirm no harmful chemicals at any stage from field to finished sheet. Every piece is stonewashed before production — which means it arrives already softened and pre-shrunk, with only 2–3% residual shrinkage remaining after use. It is then cut and hand-sewn by skilled artisans in our Hanoi workshop.
Both dyeing methods are available in SCANDALINEN's French Linen collection and both meet OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. Piece-dyed linen is dyed after weaving — the color is applied to finished fabric, producing a smooth, uniform surface and a wider range of available shades. Yarn-dyed linen is dyed at the fiber stage, before weaving — color penetrates deeper into each thread, resulting in richer color depth, better fade resistance over time, and a subtle texture variation that piece-dyed fabric doesn't have. For most customers, piece-dyed is the practical choice. For those who want maximum color longevity and a more characterful surface, yarn-dyed is worth the difference.
A small amount — approximately 2–3% — may occur after the first few washes. Because all SCANDALINEN French Linen is stonewashed and pre-shrunk before production, the bulk of potential shrinkage has already happened before the fabric reaches our cutting table. To keep residual shrinkage minimal: wash at 30–40°C, avoid high-heat drying, and line dry when possible. The dimensions listed on our product pages reflect post-wash sizing.
Yes to both questions. SCANDALINEN produces all French Linen bedding to measure — duvet covers, fitted sheets, flat sheets, pillowcases, and coverlets can all be made to non-standard dimensions. There is no minimum order: a single custom-sized pillowcase is as straightforward to order as a wholesale run. Production lead time is 2–3 weeks for individual orders and 30–45 days for large volume orders. Contact us at scandalinen@gmail.com or WhatsApp +84 936 188 661 with your exact measurements.
Yes. Linen fiber is naturally hypoallergenic and antibacterial without any chemical treatment. Its hollow fiber structure wicks moisture away from skin quickly — reducing the warm, damp microclimate against the skin that allows bacteria and dust mites to thrive. SCANDALINEN's French Linen carries OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certification, which independently verifies the absence of harmful substances including residual pesticides, heavy metals, and formaldehyde. It is appropriate for people with sensitive skin, eczema, or dust mite allergies.
