Machine wash cold (30°C / 86°F) on a gentle cycle. Use mild, natural detergent avoid bleach and fabric softeners, which break down natural fibers over time. Tumble dry low or line dry in shade. Warm iron if needed. Wash separately for the first time to prevent color transfer.

How long does shipping take?
Orders typically arrive within 3–4 weeks from the order date. This includes handcrafting time at our Vietnam workshop and international shipping. We'll send you a tracking number as soon as your order is on its way.
Is linen fabric rough or stiff?
New linen may feel crisp at first — this is completely normal. It softens significantly after the first few washes and becomes one of the most comfortable fabrics you'll own. Pre-washing before use is recommended.
I'm buying from Vietnam — is that a concern?
Not at all. We're a Vietnam-based workshop using European flax linen and high quality blended linen and we ship internationally every week. All orders are carefully packed and tracked. If anything goes wrong in transit, we'll make it right.
Will the color fade over time?
Our fabrics are dyed for durability. Avoid bleach and harsh detergents to maintain color. Some natural softening of tone may occur over years of use, which is characteristic of quality linen.
Does linen wrinkle easily?
Yes and that's part of its charm. Linen's natural texture and relaxed wrinkles are a signature of the fabric. If you prefer a smoother look, iron while slightly damp on medium heat.
Can I return or exchange if the size doesn't fit?
Yes. We accept returns within 30 days for unused, unwashed items in original condition. Contact us at scandalinen@gmail.com and we'll guide you through the process.
Are your products safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. We use natural fibers free from harmful chemicals, gentle on all skin types including sensitive skin.
Do you offer gift packaging?
Yes, all orders are packed neatly and suitable for gifting.

Carry 5,000 Years of Hmong Heritage in Every Thread
This Landscape Patchwork Tote Bag is more than an accessory—it's a living piece of Hmong cultural history. Handcrafted by Hmong artisans in the highlands of Northern Vietnam, each bag tells the story of an ancient textile tradition passed down through generations for thousands of years.
The Story Behind Every Stitch:
Every piece of brocade fabric in this bag is handwoven on traditional backstrap looms—the same weaving technique Hmong women have used for over 5,000 years. Each thread is carefully dyed using natural indigo from mountain plants or other botanical dyes harvested from the Northwest highlands, creating the signature deep blues, rich crimsons, earthy mustards, and warm terracottas that define Hmong textiles.
The horizontal landscape patchwork design mirrors the terraced rice fields and mountain horizons of the Hmong homeland, with each geometric pattern carrying deep cultural meaning: spirals represent the cosmos, diamond shapes symbolize rice terraces, and zigzag lines trace the ancestral migration paths of the Hmong people.
Why This Bag is Extraordinary:
Cultural Significance:
For the Hmong people, weaving is not just a craft—it's a sacred practice that connects them to their ancestors and preserves their identity. Hmong girls learn to weave from childhood, and the skill is considered essential to their cultural and spiritual life. The patterns woven into each piece carry stories, beliefs, and the collective memory of a people who have maintained their traditions across continents and centuries.
By carrying this bag, you're not just making a fashion choice—you're helping preserve an endangered art form and supporting the women who keep these ancient traditions alive.
