How long does shipping take?
Orders typically arrive within 3–4 weeks from the order date. This includes handcrafting time at our Vietnam workshop and international shipping. We'll send you a tracking number as soon as your order is on its way.
Is linen fabric rough or stiff?
New linen may feel crisp at first — this is completely normal. It softens significantly after the first few washes and becomes one of the most comfortable fabrics you'll own. Pre-washing before use is recommended.
I'm buying from Vietnam — is that a concern?
Not at all. We're a Vietnam-based workshop using European flax linen and high quality blended linen and we ship internationally every week. All orders are carefully packed and tracked. If anything goes wrong in transit, we'll make it right.
Will the color fade over time?
Our fabrics are dyed for durability. Avoid bleach and harsh detergents to maintain color. Some natural softening of tone may occur over years of use, which is characteristic of quality linen.
Does linen wrinkle easily?
Yes and that's part of its charm. Linen's natural texture and relaxed wrinkles are a signature of the fabric. If you prefer a smoother look, iron while slightly damp on medium heat.
Can I return or exchange if the size doesn't fit?
Yes. We accept returns within 30 days for unused, unwashed items in original condition. Contact us at scandalinen@gmail.com and we'll guide you through the process.
Are your products safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. We use natural fibers free from harmful chemicals, gentle on all skin types including sensitive skin.
Do you offer gift packaging?
Yes, all orders are packed neatly and suitable for gifting.

The Purest Indigo — When Less Says Everything
This Hmong Solid Indigo Natural Linen Scarf is a study in the profound beauty of restraint. Where other pieces celebrate pattern and complexity, this scarf lets the indigo itself speak — a deep, even, luminous blue achieved through multiple immersions in natural indigo vats, building a color of extraordinary richness and depth on handwoven natural linen brocade fabric. This is indigo at its most essential — undiluted, uninterrupted, and utterly captivating.
The Depth of Solid Indigo:
Achieving a truly even, deep solid indigo is one of the most demanding skills in Hmong natural dyeing. Unlike patterned techniques where variations can be embraced as part of the design, solid dyeing requires absolute consistency — the fabric must be immersed, removed, oxidized, and re-immersed multiple times, with the artisan carefully monitoring the color development at each stage. Too few immersions and the color is thin; too many and it becomes uneven. The deep, even blue of this scarf represents hours of patient, skilled work and a deep knowledge of indigo's living chemistry.
The natural linen brocade base adds a subtle woven texture that catches the light differently from every angle — making the solid indigo surface shimmer and shift as the scarf moves, revealing the depth and complexity hidden within what appears, at first glance, to be a simple, single color.
Why This Scarf is Extraordinary:
The Spiritual Depth of Solid Indigo:
In Hmong culture, solid indigo blue is the most sacred color in the textile palette. It is the color of the night sky, of deep water, of the ancestral realm — a color that connects the living to those who came before. Hmong elders traditionally wore solid indigo garments for important ceremonies and spiritual rituals, believing that the deep blue created a channel of communication with the ancestors. Wearing solid indigo is an act of cultural reverence — a quiet acknowledgment of the depth and continuity of Hmong heritage.
By wearing this scarf, you're carrying the most sacred color in Hmong textile tradition and preserving an endangered cultural heritage that has colored Hmong life for thousands of years.

Care Instructions:
Hand wash gently in cold water with mild soap. Wash separately for the first wash as natural indigo may release some dye. Air dry flat or hang away from direct sunlight. The natural linen will soften with each wash, and the indigo will develop a beautiful, rich patina over time — deepening in some areas, fading slightly in others, creating a uniquely personal color story.
